About the Erangel map
Erangel is the original PUBG battleground – an 8 × 8 km island of green hills, forests, farmland and rivers, scattered with small villages and a few larger towns. In the south, two long bridges connect the main island to Sosnovka Island, home of the Military Base.
Because almost every PUBG player started on Erangel, it is the map people think they know best. In PUBGEOS that confidence gets tested: you see a single screenshot for a few seconds and have to place it on the map – no minimap, no compass, no second look.
Key areas of Erangel
- Pochinki – the town in the middle of the island, surrounded by open fields and hills.
- Georgopol – the large port town in the west, split by a river, with warehouses and shipping containers.
- Yasnaya Polyana – a big town in the north-east with apartment blocks and long straight streets.
- Rozhok and School – a compact town and the school building on the hills north of Pochinki.
- Sosnovka Military Base – hangars, barracks and towers on the southern island.
- Mylta, Mylta Power and Novorepnoye – the industrial east and south-east coast.
- Primorsk, Gatka and the Quarry – the quieter south-west.
- Prison, Mansion, Shelter and Ruins – smaller landmarks that are easy to recognise once you know them.
How to recognise places on Erangel
- Read the buildings. Brick houses appear all over the island, but apartment blocks point to the bigger towns, warehouses and containers to Georgopol, and hangars to the Military Base.
- Look for water. The sea, a river or a bridge in the shot narrows things down fast – the coast, the river through Georgopol, or the bridges to Sosnovka Island.
- Check the terrain. Steep hills and dense forest, wide flat fields or a rocky quarry each belong to different parts of the island.
- Use the sun and the horizon. Distant hills, towers and power lines help you work out which way the camera is facing.
- Be quick. Points drop with distance and with time, so a fast guess in the right town beats a slow one.
